Introduction to orienteering in Aarhus

Welcome to the webpage of the orienteering club OK Pan Århus!

We hope this brief introduction can give you some idea of our club and what we can offer you. Please contact our secretary, if you need more specific information on activities and events (contact information below).

OK Pan Århus is the 2nd largest orienteering club in Denmark and is situated in the city of Århus, Jutland.
We a little over 400 hundred members ranging from a few months of age to 90 years and we represent very different levels of orienteering experience.
Most of our daily activities take place in connection with our clubhouse, Silistria, located in Marselisborg Forest in the southern part of Århus
.
The house offers kitchen fascilities, showerrooms and sauna.
The activities are numerous, so don’t hesitate to show up to one of the trainings listed below or contact our secretary for more information.

Most training sessions are free or very cheap the first times, but if you start attending more regularly, there is a small annual fee:

Training

We offer training opportunities for every skill level and every age:

 

Monday 16.30-18.00: Orienteering training aimed at children from 5 to 9 years old and at youngsters between 10 and 20 years old. The trainers are ready to give introduction to adults accompanying the children as well! The orienteering training session changes in content from week to week. Place: The clubhouse, Silistria (address, see above). Check our dedicated web-site for our young members!

Tuesday 18.00-20.00: Orienteering training for adults and older juniors (in principle open to everybody) where you can choose between 3-5 different courses.  The technical content changes from week to week and is announced on the homepage (in Danish). Place: The clubhouse, Silistria (address, see above).

Thursday 18.00-20.00: Physical training of different speed and duration, mostly in terrain or on small paths. Typical physical trainings could be interval running, fast running (approx. 30min) or long distance running at moderate speed (1,5-2 hours). The trainer leads the way and the type of training is announced on the home page (in Danish). Place: The clubhouse, Silistria

Monday 20.30-22.00 in most weeks (except in the summer): In-door circuit stability and muscle strength training, where we make exercises relevant to improving terrain running capabilities and general muscle strength improvement. Place: Holme Skole, Mølleskovvej 11, 8270 Højbjerg.

Saturday (11.00): Opportunity to run a normal orienteering training course in one of our forests around Aarhus.
